Let's Keep Our Studios Safe

Citizen's commitment to transparency and continuous improvement is one of the things Houston loves most about our studios. We respect every individual’s decision and encourage our community to act responsibly and honorably in choosing whether or not to wear a mask.

Safety Protocols

 

Studio size.

Our studios have always been boutique spaces. You’ll find our reformers in a customary staggered pattern with only 4 – 9 machines at each location.

Employee face masks + hand washing

Our entire team is required to wear masks while inside the studio if they have not been fully vaccinated and will wash their hands between each class. Antibacterial gel is available during class. Employees are encouraged to expose their nose every 20 minutes to access fresh air. 

Employee wellness questionnaires. 

Each employee, regardless of where or in what capacity they work, is required to digitally submit their employee wellness questionnaire prior to the start of each shift.  Fully vaccinated employees are NOT required to submit their employee wellness questionnaire.

A person is considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19 ≥2 weeks after receipt of the second dose in a 2-dose series (Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna) or ≥2 weeks after receipt of the single dose of the Janssen vaccine.

All reformers disinfected. 

After every class, every reformer in the studio will be thoroughly disinfected. We’ve done away with wipes and introduced a new, medical grade neutral disinfectant solution in individual spray bottles with one-time use disposable paper towels. 

Personal belongings.

Rest in peace, common-area cubbies. You’ll find an individual basket at the front of each reformer for you to store your stuff. We kindly ask you limit the number of personal items you bring into the studio and safely lock them in the trunk of your car.

Exterior + interior door mats.

Welcome mats are in place outside and inside our doors, and professionally cleaned each week, to limit outdoor contaminates on our studio floors.

Weekly cleanings.

In addition to our daily dedication to disinfect our studios, it’s been our commitment since Day 1 to have all locations professionally cleaned every Friday night.

We are a sock required studio.

All clients are required to wear sticky socks while working out to help stop the spread of sweat. Forgot your socks? Buy a pair in-studio, we have so many to choose from!

Client contact.

All instructors will minimize touching clients for form-correcting purposes. Instructors should also minimize their movements around clients during class while practicing social-distancing before and after class. 

Prop storage.

We have reduced the variety of our props in our studios. Those props we are using are diligently cleaned with our medical grade disinfectant. 

Disinfecting high-touch surfaces

Before and after every class, we’ll disinfect door handles, rails, light switches, bathrooms, sinks, toilets, benches, the front desk, keyboards, computers, iPods, and retail areas.

No more plastic cups.

Sustainability is here to stay. We’ve eliminated all single-use plastics in our studios to lessen the spread of germs at our water stations.

$15 no-show fee for everyone.

We strictly enforce our cancellation policy to allow as many clients as possible to reserve a reformer. Please remember to cancel at least 12 hours before your class starts. If you are a no-show to class, you will be charged a $15 non-refundable fee in addition to the loss of your class. 

Hands-free check in

Check in with your smile. Let your instructor or our front desk team know when you arrive, and they’ll check you in. Plan to arrive no more than 10 minutes before class begins to allow others to exit.

Updated Liability Waivers

Every single client will be required to digitally sign our new liability waivers. Current clients have been emailed the new document. New clients will sign their waiver as part of their initial account creation.

Let’s keep our studios safe

We know this is a lot.  We’re here to support you whether it’s in studio or through our virtual classes.  Aside from respecting the safety guidelines put in place by our government, we ask that any client coming to a studio walks in with the approach our Citizen Community stands for: All are welcome. 

  • If you have a cough, fever, or symptoms of COVID-19, please do not come to the studio until you’re symptom-free and fever-free for three days.
  • If you have tested positive for COVID-19, or have knowingly come into close contact with someone who has, we ask that you do not come to the studio for 14 days or until you’ve tested negative for COVID-19.
  • If you feel unwell or have any concerns about coming in to workout, please stay home and stay safe. We’ll happily add the class back to your account, and welcome you back on a reformer when you’re healthy and feel comfortable coming back.

We’re encouraging everyone to limit person-to-person contact, and exchange those high-fives and hugs for air fives – you’ll pass on those positive vibes without passing along anything else.

Safely Shop

 

Sanitize then shop.  

Shop with confidence in the cleanest studios in town after sanitizing your hands. If you’d like to make a purchase, please practice social distancing when waiting in line. If necessary, update your stored credit card information from home so that you can charge purchases to your account.

Retail returns. 

If a client does return an item, we won’t put it back on the floor until deemed safe by apparel industry standards.
