Let's Keep Our Studios Safe
Citizen's constant state of cleanliness is one of the things Houston loves about our studios. As we re-open in the Heights and celebrate our grand opening in Garden Oaks, we’re taking our commitment and promise to our communities to an even higher level.
New Safety Protocols
Reduction in reformers.
We’ve decreased the number of machines at all 3 locations so we can allow for a safe 6-foot distance in between clients through our customary staggered pattern.
All reformers disinfected.
After every class, every reformer in the studio will be thoroughly disinfected—even if not in use. We’re also introducing new sanitizing wipes and encouraging clients to personally wipe down their machines before and after class.
All props discontinued.
Until we evaluate it’s safe to share equipment, we have removed all props such as hand weights, stability balls and Pilates circles from the studios.
Disinfecting high-touch surfaces.
Before and after every class, we’ll disinfect door handles, rails, light switches, bathrooms, sinks, toilets, benches, the front desk, keyboards, computers, phones, and retail areas.
We are a sock required studio.
All clients are required to wear sticky socks while working out to help stop the spread of sweat. Forgot your socks? We have a new $4 sock rental option.
No more plastic cups.
Sustainability is here to stay. We’ve eliminated all single-use plastics in our studios to lessen the spread of germs at our water stations.
Team face masks & gloves.
Our front desk team will be required to wear gloves during their shift, and strongly encouraged to wear masks. After deep cleaning, they’ll wash their hands before refreshing gloves as needed.
Team health check.
Every team member will have their temperature checked as part of our new Employee Wellness Questionnaire prior to the start of their shift.
New $15 no-show fee for everyone.
To allow as many clients as possible to reserve a reformer, we’ll be strictly enforcing our updated cancellation policy. Please remember to cancel at least 12 hours before your class starts. If you are a no-show to class, you will be charged a $15 non-refundable fee in addition to the loss of your class.
Hands-free check in.
Check in with your smile – no more touching the iPad. Let our front desk team know when you arrive, and they’ll check you in. Plan to arrive no more than 10 minutes before class begins to allow others to exit.
Updated Liability Waivers
Every single client will be required to digitally sign our new liability waivers. This document will be emailed to all clients prior to our re-opening.
Let’s keep our studios safe.
We know this is a lot. We’re here to support you whether it’s in studio or through our livestream classes. Aside from respecting the safety guidelines put in place by our government, we ask that any client coming to a studio walks in with the approach our Citizen Community stands for: All are welcome.
- If you have a cough, fever, or symptoms of COVID-19, please do not come to the studio until you’re symptom-free and fever-free for three days.
- If you have tested positive for COVID-19, or have knowingly come into close contact with someone who has, we ask that you do not come to the studio for 14 days or until you’ve tested negative for COVID-19.
- If you feel unwell or have any concerns about coming in to workout, please stay home and stay safe. We’ll happily add the class back to your account, and welcome you back on a reformer when you’re healthy and feel comfortable coming back.
We’re encouraging everyone to limit person-to-person contact, and exchange those high-fives and hugs for elbow bumps – you’ll pass on those positive vibes without passing along anything else.
Shopping in the studio.
Our retail will still be available, but we ask that you avoid touching items as much as possible. If you’d like to make a purchase, please practice social distancing when waiting in line. If necessary, update your stored credit card information from home so that you can charge purchases to your account.
We won’t be allowing clients to try items on before buying, but will still accept returns. If a client does return an item, we won’t put it back on the floor until deemed safe by apparel industry standards.
